Hello,
I'm using an AX1500 with US Digital encoders in mixed mode speed control. Occasionally, the motors will stop turning and not respond to the analog input. I have to power off and power back on... Actually, I have to power off, wait for the capacitors to discharge, and then power on - that's the only way I can resume control. Any ideas on what could be causing the stop?
Thanks!

It could be the encoder error detection. This feature will stop the controller if it sees that a given amount of power is applied to the motor and no encoder change is detected after half a second. If so, you should also see the led flashing rapidly.

This is a very useful safety feature but it may be too tight. We will be relaxing it and stop the controller in a maner that does not require it to be powered off to restart. Plan for this updated firmware is before year end.

Also, in Roborun there is a chechbox for disabling that protection but it doesnt work. It will be fixed for the next release as well.
